Evidence-based trauma therapy that supports meaningful, lasting change
EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer rule the present, helping reduce the intensity and impact of overwhelming emotions and symptoms.
As an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist offering telehealth EMDR therapy in Washington State, I work with adults seeking meaningful, nervous-system–informed healing—especially when traditional talk therapy hasn’t been enough.
The intro video to your left is a 10-minute watch.
What EMDR Therapy Helps With
EMDR therapy is effective for both single-incident trauma and complex or developmental trauma, as well as:
Unlike talk therapy alone, EMDR works at the level of memory, emotion, belief, and the body, supporting integration rather than repeated analysis.
An Integrative, Trauma-Informed EMDR Approach
In my practice, I integrate EMDR therapy with:
An integrated approach is essential for clients with complex trauma, dissociation, or high-functioning coping strategies that can mask deeper distress.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, alternating sounds, or tapping—while you remain oriented to the present. EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to process and integrate experiences that were previously overwhelming or incomplete.
You do not need to retell traumatic events in detail. EMDR therapy is paced carefully, with attention to safety, nervous system regulation, and consent throughout the process.
EMDR therapy is recognized as an effective treatment by numerous organizations, to name a few:

Extended EMDR Sessions & EMDR Intensives
While EMDR can be effective in standard-length sessions (55 minutes), many clients see significant breakthroughs with Extended EMDR Sessions (90 minutes) or EMDR Intensives (3 to 6 hours), particularly once they are well prepared. Longer sessions can lead to deeper processing and sustained healing outcomes, particularly when you’re ready to work with greater focus and continuity.

Why EMDRIA Certification Matters
EMDR is widely offered—but training and competence vary significantly. I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist, meaning my training, consultation, and clinical experience meet the standards of the EMDR International Association.
EMDRIA certification reflects:
EMDR is powerful therapy. Proper training matters—especially when working with attachment trauma, dissociation, or nervous system dysregulation.

Is EMDR Therapy over Telehealth as Effective as In-Person?
All EMDR therapy sessions are offered via secure telehealth for clients located in Washington State. Many clients find telehealth EMDR supportive, as it allows them to engage in therapeutic work from a familiar, comfortable environment. Ongoing research shows the effectiveness of Virtual EMDR.

Many people wonder whether therapy—and EMDR specifically—can be effective in a virtual format. In practice, telehealth often enhances EMDR work rather than limiting it.
Working virtually allows you to engage in therapy from a space where your nervous system already feels more settled. This can be especially supportive for trauma processing, where safety, regulation, and a sense of control matter.
Many clients find that being at home—or in another carefully chosen space—makes it easier to stay present, grounded, and connected during EMDR sessions.
For those with pets, having an animal nearby can also be regulating. Animals often provide quiet companionship and support emotional settling during therapy.
Telehealth EMDR is offered through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, and sessions are structured with the same care, pacing, and clinical attention as in-person work.
If you’re feeling unsure, that’s okay. A brief consultation can help you decide whether EMDR - or extended work - is the right next step. If you’re wondering whether EMDR would be helpful for you, I invite you to a 15-minute complimentary consultation. We can explore your questions together and determine next steps.
